The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) has extended median lane closures into the Verona area for its Hwy. 18/151 construction project.

According to a WisDOT email update, the inside lane of eastbound and westbound Hwy. 18/151 is closed from Spring Rose Road to State Hwy. 69. The closure began on Monday, April 15 to support ongoing cable guard adjustments and median grading.

This is an extension of current lane closures from Spring Rose Road to the Sugar River. Hwy. 18/151 project engineer Dustin Hunt said traffic impacts are anticipated, especially during peak travel times.

The purpose of this project is to repair deteriorated pavement along Hwy. 18/151 and adjacent ramps. It will include an extended right turn lane along the westbound off-ramp to County PB. Construction is expected to finish by mid-June.

The project schedule and traffic impacts are dependent on the weather and subject to change. Drivers are advised to limit distractions, plan ahead and find alternate routes to avoid resulting traffic impacts from the road work.
